This is weird.

College life is not supposed to be better than highschool.

At first you may be excited about college, but you will miss your highschool life later.

This is weird.

College life is not supposed to be better than highschool.

At first you may be excited about college, but you will miss your highschool life later.

Because it is.

High School doesn't come close to comparing to college, I had a great time in high school, made a lot of friends and went to a lot of parties.. but I'd absolutely never want to go back with all of the drunk crying girls and all that drama. Now in college I see the old friends I want to and don't have to deal with the people I don't like. Let's not forget the freedom, and no I'm not talking about the freedom from your parents, you are treated like an adult in college, there's no one telling you what to do, everything you do is your own decision.

I have never missed one bit about high school after getting to college! I hated high school. I didn't have that many friends, and even the ones I did, I didn't have that much in common with alot of them (friends of convenience). In college, I have alot of REAL friends. Plus, I am finally treated like an adult most of the time and not babied through everything (which is effing annoying), and I get to live on my own. Also, my high school's academics sucked so I wasn't challenged at all and felt absolutely ridiculous most of the time. In short, college is awesome (I don't want to leave next year!) and high school sucked butt.

The answer to Yuca's question:
Hope..it's a beautiful word simply put.

College kicks high school ass.

If your college experience does not blow HS out of the water, then something is wrong.

"College life is not supposed to be better than highschool."

Where did you get this idea? It's certainly not true, becuase high school sucks arse.

Because it usually is.

Don't underestimate the appeal of the freedom to pursue whatever you want.

College is far better than high school was. I had a good time in high school but am having a great time in college.

For good reason, I hated my hometown and high school. While many students loved both of those places, I never fit in. I had the heart of a liberal, big city person but was in a conservative, cliquey town. I also was one of just 5 black students in my high school, which was in a town of 6,000 that had only about 3 black families.

There also was nothing to do in my town, not even a movie theater. It was a great place for folks who love things like camping. I don't like camping.

Yes, college, which was in a big city, was much better as was the rest of my life, which has included living in cities like Atlanta and D.C., and spending part of summers in places like Paris. I fit in in such places although I never fit in in high school. My humor and ideas -- that my high school peers didn't understand -- are what make me popular now. :)

I had a decent enough HS experience, but there's absolutely no question that college was 1000x better. I feel sorry for you if HS was where you peaked.

To quote "Dazed and Confused":
All I'm saying is that if I ever start referring to these [it's a movie about high school] as the best years of my life - remind me to kill myself.

Some people who got picked on in high school can "Start a new life" in college and fake it.

College was so much better than high school that I sometimes wonder why I didn't stay a fifth year.

You are not even in college.

Whatever happens, I hope I never miss my time in high school.

Once you're in college, it's unlikely you'll even really think about high school -- just like once you were in HS, you never really thought about middle school or elementary school anymore!

College is simply different. I would agree, though, that it is probably the best years of your life as many have proposed.

Why do some kids expect college to be better than highschool?
[/quote]

Those people probably thought HS sucked and nothing could be worse than it.

Can you share your bad experience in highschool?
What makes you hate your highschool?

I really liked high school and had a great experience - but living with a bunch of your friends and being able to take whatever classes interest you out of a huge range of options is really fantastic.

It's just like how I had a good time in elementary school and middle school but still liked high school better.

I hated high school... the classes were just so ********. And I felt like I was ready for a lot more freedoms than I had. Generally I liked the people at the school but I was just so disenchanted with the education system and ready to move on... thank god for dual-enrollment! :D
