To those of you who are into the science/math fields and have been accepted into JHU: what clubs/activities were you involved in throughout high school?

I was...
Vice-president of Math Club
Team Captain of Quiz bowl and Science Team
AMC, AIME, various math tournaments...

Well, to be honest, I'm not really into science. I'm a Art History major. I'm also premed, and although I have a fascination with the sciences, I am a much bigger arts person.

Aceepted for class of 2011:
Research
Science Club
Math Team
Math Fair Project

Just a comment from a seasoned Admissions professional:

If you are posting this question to see if there are specific extracurricular activities that you need to join so you can be admitted, this will not help. Choose your activities based on YOUR interests, YOUR passions, what YOU want to do ... not what you think will get you admitted to college.

There are no set activities students must do to be considered a qualified applicant. When reviewing one's "resume" we are looking for leadership, commitment to service, pursuit of passionate interests, sincere involvement, and other such notions. We are not looking for specific activities. There is no guidebook on what activities will get you into college.

Just my two cents...

very true to what admissionsdaniels said above. I was not in any science/math related activities nor won any science/math related awards. All I was into was visual arts, i took art classes at the art league since freshman year till now, i attended governors school for visual arts my junior year, i was first place in various art poster contests and essay contests both regionally and statewide and nationwide. I took SAT II chinese, english lit and US history. I applied for the chemical and biomolecular engineering major at JHU and I was accepted. As long as u show passion and dedication to what really interests YOU, that is what matters.
