To those who have not yet received a decision

I may be rehashing a different thread, if so I apologize.

I called the admissions office this afternoon. Paraphrase: "We are sending the decisions out in waves because of the volume of applications we have received. The last wave goes out TOMMOROW (WEDNESDAY)." According to the representative, this means that you should know by Friday or Saturday.

Naturally I asked her if getting a later decision meant that I was most likely rejected. She said, "No, there is no method to the madness." (direct quote) They are mailing them out in waves due to the number of applications they received.

Incidentally, she offered to tell me when my letter will be mailed (tomorrow, it happens). I would assume that anyone who wishes to know when his or her letter is being mailed can check with the admissions reps (though you can probably assume it will be today or tomorrow).

So fear not, ye who are still hanging in the limbo of the unknown. Just wait a few more days and all will be revealed.

Haha, I think we got the same admissions officer. She used such phrases as “let’s not beat around the bush” and “there is no rhyme nor reason” :)

And also like you, what the admissions office told me was really reassuring.

But then again, do you ever wonder if they are just saying that there’s no “method to the madness?” I mean, they can’t exactly say “Yes, I’m sorry to tell you that you’ve been rejected.”

As much as I would like to keep hoping, this still makes me really quite nervous!

I think everyone is calling them about this now, and they’re getting annoyed. I just called and they said they cant tell me when my letter is going out.
