Reading the UMKC thread, I realize I'm not the only one stressing out about not being called for an interview. I think it's unfair, in a way, that they keep you on the hook from now until March. Does anyone have any stress relieving tips?

Don't stress yourself out over an interview. I'm sure they will call eventually (I haven't recieved one yet either). One of my friends who is a second year didn't get a call until late Febuary. I also read in one of the old threads that some guy didn't get an interview, so he called the office to see what was going on. Their response: "What time do you want to come in?"

Keep in mind, they have been recieving a lot more applicants this year than in the previous years, so they are running a little behind as well.

Good luck to everyone!

BTW, are you in state or out of state?

Is the general consensus that it is better to call Mary Anne Morgenegg or just wait? It just sucks that there is no word at all.

I'm oos/ South Dakota. But from what I've been reading, some oos people have been getting interviews.

Hmm, my frend (who is instate as well) got an interview. He turned his in on the Nov 15th deadline.

Perhaps they are working backwards? (I turned mine in way early)

yeah, I turned my application in in September

does your guys's application status system check work? it says they haven't even received my application (and an email to the admissions committee sent over a month and a half ago has entailed no reply)

I have the same problem, I can't get into the status system, but I hear that the program is flawed. I got an acceptance to the college in the mail. Have they sent you any mail, shatender? Because if you haven't, I would just call the college.

Hey skp, did you ever get a chance to call Mary Anne? I'm interested in what she has to say.

i didnt get interview either, and i checked my application status and i panicked.i also got letter long time ago about being accepted

I got a letter a week or two ago saying that I was accepted to the undergrad school and that my file was being forwarded to the med school. So I called two days ago and apparently they have reviewed only a small fraction of applications and I was told not to worry since there were still tons of apps they had to go through.

thx for posting.i just checked today since cc members were discussing and i was just beng curious.so who did u call?

No prob, I called Ms. Morgenegg first, but she was out, so I called the School of Medicine Council on Selection number she left on her voicemail.

I suggest calling Ms. Morgenegg once the holidays are over, say around Jan. 3 or 4, or later when regular classes will start up again. Just ask her when you can expect a call/email about an interview.

Tips for not stressing out while waiting for an interview? Learn more about all of the programs you applied to, but most of all, focus on your senior year. Yes, applying and waiting for interviews is a big part of your life right now, but you've submitted your applications so all you can really do is wait--do NOT let it bring you down. Fill the time by working hard at school, enjoying extracurriculars, and hanging out with friends you may not get to hang out with as much once you start college--you won't regret it. This is just a dose of common sense that came in handy for me when I was in your shoes 3 years ago.
