Hello everyone. I'm a freshman computer science major at UF. I don't know how many of you have been keeping up with the news, but recently the College of Engineering dean essentially proposed axing our entire department. You might also be aware that recently that said proposal was scrapped in favor of merging us with the electrical engineering department.
However, more recent evidence suggests that the electrical engineering department head might have had a hand in manipulating the dean. Now I'm no longer certain...should I transfer out of the university to somewhere else? Do I sound like I have a valid reason for transfering?

will the problem in the administration make you a lessor student? Will your learning ability affected by the turmoil? If the answer is no, don’t worry about it.

I read about that its weird considering comp sci jobs are in demand. You have a valid reason but if you like your school and believe you can maintain a your major to a high degree in the electrical engineering department I would stay. Also I hear comp sci/electrical engineering dual degrees can make good money.
