i dont know where they were accpeted but one of my schols vals this year is going to yale and the other two to Brown

Oh and for my county:

Stanford- 1
BYU- 1
UNC- 4
Duke- 2
Wake Forest- 1
Gardner Webb- 1
Morehouse- 1

Our val is going to Bennington College; don’t know where else they could’ve gone

Val- Harvard, also accepted UPENN, U of Chicago, USC
Sal- Berkeley, also accepted UCLA Honors

3- Stanford, also accepted Berkeley, UCLA, USC

4- Berkeley, also accepted Northwestern, UCLA Honors, Bucknell

I read an interesting statistic on the Pomona College website today –

15% of the Fall 2007 enrollees were their school’s valedictorian.

We have several: Harvard,Stanford, MIT, Duke, U of MN, Madison (not in any order)

our valedictorians (yes two. 2 ppl are sharing the title), one is going to carleton the other berkeley.

our #1 had only been at the school two years and wasn’t eligible as valedictorian (she was the only one with a 4.0). one of my favorite people. got into vanderbilt, baylor, unc chapel hill, duke, and i think also emory. stanford and princeton frowned on her. she’s attending duke.

2, also not valedictorian because of “character” concerns (ie a lack of activities but definitely a fantastic person), got into amherst, claremont mckenna, chicago, and many waitlists. rejected i think at yale and stanford. she’s attending our state school with a very large and prestigious merit scholarship. tale of woe otherwise but happily resolved.

3, also one of my favorite girls, was the one to speak. she got into harvey mudd, rensselaer, occidental, and i think johns hopkins. rejected, like the other two, at stanford. she too is attending a state school (not the same as 2’s), but on a national merit scholarship. boyfriend attends state school and i think he may have made the decision for her.

our school is a little capricious about awarding the valedictory. my class (09) currently has 3 people tied for #1 all with 4.0’s. the faculty choose the valedictorian from the top 3, and i very much doubt it will be me (though many activities, tasp, 2400, etc etc) as i am a liberal protestant and the substantial majority of both faculty and student body are very conservative charismatic catholics. another of the 3 is with them & a pro-life speaker and i suspect she will get it. no hard feelings though as i like her a great deal.

ours had awful luck.

Our Val this year is going to Texas A&M on a full-ride. She wants to be a veterinarian and it has one of the best animal science programs in the country :)

She was rejected from both Yale and Brown…

Ironically, the only person from our school to get accepted anywhere really prestigious was the number 8 girl (out of a class of ~120, not an amazing rank). She is really the funniest and most fascinating person. She got like a 35 ACT and 800s on 4 or 5 subject tests. Also made all-state in band. She got into Dartmouth, UChicago, Washington in St. Louis., and I wanna say Berkeley… Going to UChicago.

our valedictorian got into duke, upenn, columbia, northwestern, rice, and ucla.
he’s going to duke for bme.

Eh… our valedictorian is going to Harvard.. but
We have 4 people going to Harvard
2 people going to Columbia
3 people going to Brown
5 people going to UPenn
6 people going to Stanford
2 or 3 going to Yale
(The list continues)
but I go to a prep school.

Not sure about the Valedictorian, but the Saludatorian got accepted to:

Harvard (attending)
Yale
Princeton
Wash U
Vanderbilt (full ride)

Her parents are Nigerian and she had a 34 ACT I believe. She wants to be a cardiologist. I don’t know why she didn’t accept the full ride at Vandy though, they have an excellent med school, but it’s her choice I guess…

UVA, Cornell, Georgetown, JMU, Mason, Emory. She’s going to UVA.

Our school’s valedictorian got accepted to MIT early action - that’s where she’s going.

At our school, there was a tie for first place (me and a friend of mine).

I’ll be going to Duke after being accepted to:
