To Write a new essay for CA or no?

I am a QB finalist and I know the applications get forwarded for RD if you opt for it. Does this mean the school reads your QB essays along with your CA essays? So it would be best to write a new essay instead of recycling the same one, correct? I know it's a matter of preference but it would expand their horizons on their knowledge of you, wouldn't it?

Look up the requirements for each school: [Regular Decision Requirements](http://www.questbridge.org/for-students/ncm-regular-decision-requirements)

Some schools allow forwarding of QB app but want CA plus supplement also, some just want QB app and supplement, some just read QB app, some just read the CA. You need to figure this out for yourself. Once you know what each school wants you can decide which essays to submit. It is usually advantageous to show as many sides of yourself as possible. Some schools do recommend recycling your QB essays on the CA but there’s the word count issue and you may not be able to cut another 150 words and retain the character of your essay…

I’m asking for a personal opinion. I already know which schools I would like to apply to and their policies on the apps. Would you, personally, write an additional essay or recycle the same essay?

I would personally base my decision on the schools’ policies on the apps. As suggested above, I would make individual decisions for each school based on which apps you submit to the school and what the college recommends. If they recommend recycling, do that. If they ask for both CA and QB and don’t specifically tell you to recycle, then you could use the CA to showcase another essay — if you have another excellent one. If they don’t read the QB app and one of your QB essays fits the college’s supplemental essay prompt and word count, you could recycle there. I don’t know what else you want to know. Without knowing which colleges you’re applying to, no one can give you specific advice. You should make case by case decisions.

I personally reused my 500 word QB essay with slight modifications. They encouraged reusing one of your QB essays when I went to the Northwestern conference…
