Today is Deerfiled Day on the West Coast

I would like to hear from Deerfield students and parents about the school. One of my son's friends is thinking Deerfield (if he gets in) over SPS (he is in) because his older brother says they have prettier girls. I think he is kidding, though I'm not sure. I can't imagine SPS losing a whole class of boys to DA because of their women. I thought we only choose what college we go to based on the pretty the girl percentage.:)
I can't fix the (sp) in the title:(

Deerfiled?

What do you mean by Deerfield Day? I go to Choate and we had Deerfield Day in November, as we always do.

I personally would choose SPS over DA, but that’s just my opinion.

Deerfield acceptance haven’t arrived on the West coast yet. Until today. They sent them 3/10 via USP 2 Day mail. Wish I could spell at 6am. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

Ah, I see - sorry for the confusion on my part.

Sarum - I had not considered the hormonal angle for my son’s preference of DA over SPS. I’ll need to ask him.

Also, my husband did NOT attend Deerfield many years ago because there were no girls. You may be on to something.

Ouch! A low blow! I suspect a number of quite beautiful St. Paul’s girls will take umbrage at their public dising by Deerfield! But then SPS went coed 18 YEARS before Deerfield, so I know the Deerfield boys are still adjusting to the concept and feel a visceral need to brag about ‘their girls’. With time they will adjust to girls, make mature and reasoned judgements and be able to resist their vapid and base hormonal braggadocio! Facts are SPS girls are smarter and beautiful!

I am sorry for the lack of PC. My hands are tied atm, the question is as stated by a 14 year old boy.

Winterset - thank you for your frankness and candor. I believe reason will win out at in the end.

Oh just having a little fun. First it was Choate changing the SPS Wikipedia entry, now Deerfield dising our girls. I know people are jealous of ALL the beauty of St. Paul’s.

I inquired with my son and here’s his emailed response:

“Girls were not a factor in my preference of D over S. I did see many attractive girls at D. Saw just three people walking around during S visit and only glimpses of people in the library and classrooms.”

It rained the day we visited SPS, so there were few students out and about.

Let him go to revisits and he’ll see how great SPS’s young women are. More diversity, too. Deerfield tends to be a little “cookie cutter”.

I’m a student at DA and have a thread running for questions, if you want to check that out, to see if any of your questions were already answered.
