today

Irvine releases results in dribs and drabs. Every night a few hundred are announced. Rejects are saved till the very end. Every morning emails are sent out to those whose status has changed. This will continue through much of March. This way Irvine gets to be the first UC to start announcing acceptances and the last UC (after Berkeley slated for the 26th) to continue announcing results. Welcome to water torture designed by the ivory tower that is UCI.....

Is it possible that there will be a new wave of acceptances TONIGHT? or does irvine normally space their waves out by weeks?

^any info on that?

Got accepted today! :]

And yes, Irvine sends them out in waves, so just wait a bit if you haven't gotten anything yet.

got accepted today as well! =D im surprised that i got accepted so early considering my stats dont compare to the average CCer.

what are your stats demoz if you dont mind sharing?.. sorry just anxious...
and dont worry my stats dont compare either....

sure i dont mind sharing, but i hope people dont criticize my stats or anything. anyways here it is:

UC gpa - 4.08
uw gpa - 3.76
Rank - 16/487 (this number should really be 900-1000 but 25% of them drop out and about 25% of that dont make it to graduation)
I am not in ELC.
I took every AP/Honor my school has to offer.
SAT I - 1830 (590 CR / 640 Math / 600 W)
SAT II - 650 Math II / 580 U.S. History / 580 Chemistry
ACT - 29

as for my E.C.'s i dont really have anything special just the normal volunteering here and there and sports but i did create my own club.

ur not below average.............

didnt get accpeted yet either

gpa - 3.6 UW, 3.9 UC, 4.2 W
sat - 2070, 800 Math 700 Chem

hope i get in soon

godbreath, what is your major? Your stats are good. You should hear from them soon. Riverside had their notification period start on Feb 1, but I did not hear from them until Feb 15th. However, in their case, I was confident I will get in since they are purely stats driven. I don't know if Irvine has any holisitic/hardship component.

Have many engg folks heard from Irvine as part of RD notification (non chp/elc/regents)?

i have a 4.03 UC GPA and 1860 SAT hope i hear soon too.

How did you guys calculate UC GPA?
I'm not sure how to do it with the semester system.

My grades are:
10th, first semester: A, A(h), A, A, A, A
10th, second semester: A, A(h), A, A, A, A

11th, first semester: B(ap), B(ap), A(ap), B, B(ap), B(h)
11th, second semester: B(ap), A(ap), A(ap), A, B(ap), B(h)

Would it be (4+5+4+4+4+4)+(4+5+4+4+4+4)=50 for 12 semesters soph year and (4+4+5+3+4+4)+(4+5+5+4+4+4)=50 for 12 semesters junior year... meaning I have a 4.23 gpa?
I also did it by adding 8 points total (one pt for every semester, not class) and got 4.0 UC GPA.

Other than that I have 2010 SAT, 32 ACT, 780 and 750 SATIIs and getting tireeed of waiting >.<

First of all you need to make sure that your honor courses are uc approved for your specific school. Assuming you have at least 1 such honors, and you have 7 ap semesters, you add max 8 points (capped). So your max gpa is 4.0 uc gpa not 4.23. It could be slightly lower if none of your honors are uc approved (3.96). With your SAT scores including subject scores, you have a real good shot at all uc's. What is your major jlnm.

Ugh.. well I'm not sure if English 2 Honors is approved or not but Precal Honors should be.
I applyed for undecided/undeclared.

Anyway, thanks for helping me with the gpa thing.

english 2 honors is not. Precalc Honors is approved.

Thanks koeanboi.

Does anyone know if UCI releases decisions EVERY night from now on? I'm getting worried kuz I don't have ANY acceptances as of now. I only applied to UCI, UCSB, UCSD, UCLA, and UCB. :</p>

same jinm

UCSB comes out on the 17th i think

I wanna know the same jinm.... Does anybody know if they come out every night??

I think they come out with some everyday, since I got my decision on monday morning while my friend got hers today.

indiowho? and amby:
they probably do release some every night. that's what i've read about uci decisions... don't remember where though.
but there were people admitted yesterday, and i've been admitted tonight so it's highly probable that they ARE releasing some daily.
btw, i didn't get an email saying my status changed. i just happened to check the status site. so check your status sites daily and good luck!
