I tried but I just couldn’t get more than 110.
I took an exchange year in a Michigan public high school, while I got A or A- in all classes including 3 AP classes and a speech class.
I think my English is ok, but I’m afraid the admission officers won’t think so.
I want to apply for several top 20 universities ranked by u.s news, but people said one with a score lower 110 is going to be ruled out by them.
Should I go on applying for those schools?
It won’t hold you back for sure but it won’t be a plus point either.
Standardised english proficiency exams are just to ensure that the student can survive/thrive in the college.
The ‘recommended’ score for even the tippy top universities is 100.
I got 114 and my brother got 117 and we’re sure it doesn’t add much value to our application. Its just another checklist that has been ticked.
If you had a score of 80 I would worry but 104 is great!
Now focus on the essays and the other aspects that you can control
Best of luck!
Thanks
