TOEFL iBT score 99

Hello!

I have a very stupid result on my TOEFL iBT (99) , as I want to apply to some schools that require a minimum TOEFL iBT score of 100. Should I still apply? Does anyone has had any experience with this?

From where are you ?
A 99 on TOEFL is anything, but stupid
It’s quite a decent score actually, as most colleges require a minimum of 80+
May I ask what college(s) you are applying to, if that doesn’t bother you ofcourse  ?

I don’t think that score will put you on the auto reject list, but i’d recommend emailing the unis about it.

^ Seconded. I would email and ask before paying the application fees.

If it helps, I know a girl who had 90+ and was accepted by UChicago.

you wont have any problem. If you are a couple of points down of what they ask you are ok

Thanks prostozina, that was a relief. I got 100 on TOEFL and didn’t fell like spending $175 more to get 4 more points for UChicago TOEFL requirement.

I got 104… Which sucks, because many require 110… But for 175bucks I’m not taking it again…

Some colleges only require internationals to take the TOEFL when they’ve scored lower than 600 on the Critical Reading part of the SAT’s. You could look it up on the websites of the colleges you’re applying to, or email them :)

110? I’ve never seen a college that requires 110…

Some colleges say that the most competitive students usually have a score above 110, while their requirement is 100.

Last time I looked up requirements for Harvard (us) and Oxford (uk) it was 109-110… But I think you would be considered with anything over 100 or 25 in each section?

I may be wrong, but Harvard requires +100.

It may have been Harvard law school…?

Could be, 100+ was for Harvard college.

Anyhow I hate it only lasts two years!

@prostozina Could you tell me st more about her: stats, achievements, pesonality,… Thanks !
