I really like Wellesley, but I just discovered a big problem...
TOEFL is only exempted for internaitonal students who have studied in a English system for over 5 years. I studied in Singapore for 4...

But my SAT critical reading score was 760. Doesn't this demonstrate that my language proficiency is good enough for me to understand college courses? I'm 4 months away from A-levels, and I think I don't really have the spare time to study and take the TOEFL.

If I don't take TOEFL, is there still a chance for me? :(
Help~

Why don’t you call or e-mail the admissions office just to be sure? Your English seems fine to me. You really don’t need to study for TOEFL. I bet you will pass with flying colors even if you have to take it.

I would take a sample test online to see where you stand. I googled sample TOEFL tests and looked at the questions- they’re things native speakers just know the answer to because they sound right (like the words describing amounts of food and whether they are plural). SAT scores probably do correlate with getting a good score on the TOEFL, but more particularly the writing one.

There are certain standardized tests that you can walk in, sit down, answer the questions, leave, and find you aced it. The TOEFL may be one of them.

Thank you BunsenBurner and WendyMouse!
Just to check: does the admission office follow a certain operation hour?
The time difference is 12 hours between MA and Singapore. I don’t want to miss the opening hours in my sleep.

The website might say, but when I was at Wellesley, “business hours” for most offices were 8:30am-4:30pm
