Harvar says that it does not require toefl but does it consider it?

if you are an international student and your first language is not english, then i believe you are required to take either toefl/ielts..unless it is waived because of your SAT score..

is this true?and what would you consider a good score on the ibt toefl? i got a 113

Usually, 115 or above is considered a good score. But to be perfectly honest, I've found that among my peers, the top tier of international applicants, or at least the ones who speak English as well as Americans, score roughly 117 or above.

I am also an international applicant and I had to take the TOEFL (IBT) when I applied to a special type of private high school. I took it in my last year of junior high and got a 119/120. I wish I could use it for college apps but it's due to expire next year or so...

I don't think it matters that much though. :) I'm not sure if this still applies, but last year I looked at some forms and Harvard did not require you to take the TOEFL if you took the SATs. I'd say TOEFL is a useful barometer for measuring someone's English proficiency in speaking, but the other areas are more than covered in the SAT I. If you excelled in your SATs, then they know that you'd have a good TOEFL score whether you took it or not.

Other universities do list it as a requirement, but most (if not all) of the Ivy League does not. They realize that your SATs speak louder than the TOEFL, I guess.
