Too Early for Spring Advice?

Okay guys, I need your help.

I've noticed that so far everyone are discussing the coming Fall. Maybe it's a bit early for this question, but hey, someone has to ask first.

Long story short: I've graduated high school at 2006 with the equivalent of a C average from Israel. Moved to the U.S. after the following summer and only started attending Community College last January (Actually signed up for classes last year, but ended up not going). I've had a bit of an "awakening", and woke up one day with a burning ambition to succeed academically after spending three years waiting tables and bartending (and fundraising) at NYC.

I moved to Dallas, TX with some friends. Took 21 core credits at El Centro CC, and got a 4.0 GPA last semester with honors credit in 5 of my classes. I've also been elected as the president of a club for the Fall. This summer I'm signed up for 16 credits (so far, also making sure that they are likely to transfer) and also doing lots of volunteer work, starting in June.

I feel that if I can maintain that GPA, rack up honor's credit for my courses, take the right classes for my major (Liberal Arts with a focus on Philosophy), rack up volunteer hours, join Phi Theta Kappa, and get some recommendation letters, then I should have a good chance at getting into a good college next Spring. I also speak four languages (Hebrew, Russian, Spanish, and ,of course, English), which could be used to pad my application.

So what do you guys think I should aim for? UT Austin is one choice, but I really want to apply to Boston U and NYU (always wanted to go there while living in NY), and maybe even Cornell (unrealistic?). I feel that my weaknesses are my horrible high school GPA and the short time frame in which I'm getting the coursework done. Also, my greatest ECs, Club presidency and Phi Theta Kappa membership(perhaps even an officer position) are only for the Fall, and won't be actual achievements when I send my application in September. I'm really set on transferring in the spring and not waiting until next Fall.

Kind of a long post, thanks for reading this far.
