Seems pretty typical for a high school student intending to attend a university after graduating from high school.
I think it sounds very stressful, especially if you want time to pursue other interests and have time for fun. Only you know what you’re capable of. If it’s manageable for you then go for it, but it does sound intense to me. However, I am aware that kids who are shooting for the ivies and top schools feel compelled to take very rigorous courseloads
I also think it sound stressful and not typical. Do you think this is too much? Since you posted the question I’m thinking that you have doubts. Is it normal at your high school for a kid to have so many APs? I don’t think anyone in my D’s class took 4 APs junior year. I know it seems common here but I think it’s only for certain hyper competitive high schools.
It really depends on what your extracurriculars look like. That looks like a pretty intensive schedule but if you don’t do a ton of ECs then it shouldn’t be a problem for you. Aim high! I know from experience that it’s really difficult to balance multiple AP classes, a job, music, sports, etc. but it all just depends on your goals in these activities and how you function as a person- under pressure or in a relaxed environment.
Depends on your strengths and weaknesses. This seems actually light to me. Isn’t gov’t and Econ only 1 semester each? So you really only have 5 academic classes each semester. No electives?
Pretty similar to my senior year schedule. If you think you can ahndle it, you’ll be fine.
GOV and ECON are both one year. I have kids in my school taking 6 APs Junior year, its a very competitive public school. Thanks for feedback everyone
I’m surprised your school has AP gov and econ as full year courses. If you look on the CB website, you will see that they were intended to be 1 semester only (1 semester for US gov, 1 semester for comparative gov, 1 semester for macro, and 1 semester for micro) and that’s how most schools teach them.
Since year-long for you, schedule seems fine. Good luck!
