Hi, listed below is my schedule next year for JUNIOR year. I would appreciate any advice if my schedule would be too much in terms of time.
Disclaimer: I go to a pretty bad high school, so the workload is most likely less than a normal school (assumption)
Calculus 3
AP Econ (macro + micro)
Ap Lang
Ap physics 1
AP gov
Ap Chem
Journalism
Honors business management
Thanks!
Why is your name dropoutofschool? That is a lot of AP courses. What are your options? Is this similar to your current schedule? How difficult was that for you? If easing up a bit is an option for you, I’d strongly consider it.
Haha my name is a joke. And I have taken 3 AP classes each year (soph and fresh). My grades have been solid and I don’t spend too much time on HW to be honest. My main concern is having Chem and physics… @shoboemom
Although that is awesome that you want to take so many AP classes next year, I would recommend spreading them out between your junior year and senior year! You’re not in a rush to get a ton of APs done in one year, and being that you’ve done a lot of APs already, you’d be completely fine if you kept going along with the pace of 3-4 AP classes a year. The main goal of taking an AP class for me, at least, is to be able to get college credit, and trying to do well on all of those tests in May would be a very difficult and stressful time! I would focus on less, and just do really well on those!
Do you have any idea on what you are going to major in? I would say to at least do AP Physics 1 for sure this year so that next year you can take AP physics 2.
You have 6 APs already. Go you, subject? passing grade? GPA What is your PSAT, did you do that as a soph? ACT plan?
Thank you for the great advice @AGrahamCracker @Alfonsia . Out of my 6 APs, my most difficult ones would be Calc AB/BC and bio. I have recieved a 4 or above in each one (obviously I haven’t taken the test for this year). As for my major, I’m still deciding between business/economics/finance or pre-med (technically not a major ). I have not taken the PSAT yet, but I’m optmistic and planning to study for the ACT/SAT.
Another question, is it true that junior year is typically busier than senior year, in terms of extracurriculars and testing?
