I'm starting to regret putting all my eggs in one basket (one with a November 15th deadline). I have modern minds application status with a waived fee for George Mason U. If I apply tonight and ask my guidance counselor to send my transcript tomorrow and order my scores to be sent tonight would it be too late to apply early action? (They extended the deadline until tonight). My schools guidance office says they can take up to 10 days to process documents. Not sure what this means it only takes a minute to the print out my transcript? I already gave them everything they need a while ago.

It sounds that like my HS, your guidance dpt has a policy of not taking last minute requests. They probably could send it, but they don’t have to. If they aren’t willing to send it this late, you could always do regular decision.

Most high schools don’t send printed transcripts, they send them electronically though Naviance. And that deadline they give is to keep students like you who don’t have their act together from budging in front of other students who have gotten requests to them on a timely basis. That said, they MAY move faster on yours if you ask politely. But can you really pull together a high quality app by tonight anyway? If you think so, then you can submit it and ask politely for help from your GC tomorrow. If they refuse, you can always ask the college to change it to the RD pool. Colleges do understand that the high school materials may arrive later – a week (or even 10 days) probably would not hurt your chances as long as YOUR info meets the deadline.

Thank you. I did most of the app already just not the 750 word essay for the honors college. And that really depends on if I can actually think of something to write about or not. But it will probably be very rushed.

As long as your part of the application is in by the deadline, supporting documents can take a few weeks longer in most cases without any problem.

Lol George Mason just extended their deadline to November 10
