I will be applying to Georgetown's SFS EA this fall and for my first essay (the general one) I was thinking about writing one as a narrative as if I were already attending SFS -- examples of classes w/ professors for my major, how I plan to get involved, etc. -- while still putting in a lot about my interests/likes/quirks, etc. Would this be soon as too overdone or be good to show that this is my complete top-choice?

This could go two ways depending on how well you wrote it: 1) it will be seen as accurate and reliable, and will boost your chances or 2) it will be seen as fake and unoriginal and will kill your chances. In my opinion, while you may be able to make it good and get towards result 1 instead of 2, these types of essays are not unique. One of my admissions books even recommends these for any Why X? essay. So I would try to come up with something more original that both combines your interests and shows why you want to be at Georgetown.

Yes, I was afraid that it wouldn't be originial enough, i guess I am just having difficulty w/ finding a topic that will show my interests/personality while also showing that Georgetown is my top pick...
