<p>I am tired of sitting around all day so I thought I should start writing my apps and essays. I checked the apps for UC's and USC and there seems to be no app for the Fall 2012 term. When will the apps be out and is there any way I could see the essay topics and start writing them sooner? Thanks!</p>
<p>Usually apps don’t come out until late August or September. It sucks cause you have all this free time during the summer and right when you get busy, apps come out. That’s life for ya. To get a head start though you can try and find previous year’s essay topics so you can at least have an idea of what they might be and start thinking about it.</p>

<p>Two basic sets of essays that you could get decent drafts written for are the old standards:
Why college/university X?
What do you want want to major in and why?</p>
<p>Many places will have some version of at least one of those as an essay topic. So will many scholarship applications.</p>
