Took a chance, and suspended for semster

So, I was suspended for the spring semester at my school for smoking pot. I started smoking lightly because of an unknown anxiety I kept having and that was getting worse. I went from having a C average to having an A and B average by the end of the fall semester. It bettered me as a student and I continued. I was an exceptional student for the first 3 weeks of school, completing my work, aced my first exam, and more. However, I was seen by another student way off campus smoking and was reported by the student. I cooperated with the Residential Life and was truthful. I was suspended for the semester. I do not plan to go back because that was the last straw with my overly religious university!

Now, I have just been diagnosed with PTSD. I have had it for years apparently and it has hurt my academic performance for years. I am currently applying for a medical card in my home state. Weed has effectively treated my PTSD and allowed me to perform at my expected level in school, free from my anxiety. Even with that, I was still suspended for not having it legally yet.

However, what will that suspension along with my now known and soon to be legally treated PTSD mean when transferring to other universities? My GPA is a 2.7 now, and the university I am looking to go to has their minimum GPA as a 2.5. LAst semester I got a 3.5 and this semester was off to a great start.

Most likely, you have to explain your suspension during the application process

Admitting it was unwise, there was no tangible evidence just his word against yours. Go see a psychiatrist get a diagnosis and then you have medical evidence that might get leniency.

Tell the truth, that you were going to a religious college and you admitted to smoking pot off campus and were suspended. This is so far beyond the pale of normal school discipline that I do not think it would be held against you at a regular school.
