D1 took 3 SAT Subject Tests on 12/3/16 but when she logs on, she sees no scores from that day. D2 took tests same day and she can see test scores from 12/3/16 when she logs on. This is D1’s second time taking the SAT Subject Tests, and she did nothing different than last time, when her scores were posted. Does anyone know why this might be? Does anyone know how to reach the College Board over vacation? D1’s college applications are due January 1. Thanks!
call collegeboard ,also inform your universities about your unfortunate situation
Something is wrong and you need to contact them. The site clearly states that subject test results from 12/3 are now available on the site. Click on the help button. The phone number to call is 212-713-8000. Also after clicking on help, there is a spot to click on “send us a message.” If I were you, I immediately would contact them both ways. Do it today, because it is a Friday before a weekend with a federal holiday. It’s today or wait until Tuesday.
Thanks TheGreyKing and Derpthulu. I called the number and they tell me D1 is one of a “small number” of students whose scores are not available. They want to sent it to the “scoring department” to review in 5-10 business days! That won’t help with applying by Jan. 1! Any more advice from anyone? Anyone else in this situation? Thanks!
OK, I “escalated” the issue through a manager after calling. They promise getting back to me within 2 business days. That would mean January 3 or 4 depending on whether they take January 2 off since New Years falls on a Sunday this year. Either way that won’t get us the needed scores by January 1. Very unfortunate for us!
you should contact the school you’re applying to talk about the delay. I think they will understand and give you some help. Good luck!
Same thing happened to me, I called them yesterday and this morning my scores were up (780m2 & 730phys)
LookAtThisNet, glad your scores popped up after you called! I called the College Board (as recommended by GrayKing) with my daughter and spoke at length to a manager but the December scores have not popped up. Her previous scores are 780 Literature, 730 Spanish, 730 Math2. She just took chemistry because one of her chosen schools requires a math and science subject test and some other schools seem to suggest that. So chemistry is the score she really needs. At the same time she rewrote Math2 and Literature just to see if she could raise those scores. It was a lot of work to prepare for the December test and she devoted the day to the test. It is unfortunate that the College Board did this to a senior. This makes a difficult testing/application process unnecessarily difficult! Does anyone know whether the College Board will be open on Monday, January 2, or will they take that day off for the New Year’s holiday? One of her schools has a Jan 2 deadline, so I have told her to wait to submit that application until Monday evening. She has a busy day Monday, however, with a college interview scheduled (for the school that wants that chemistry test!) so she wants to apply immediately with scores she has. Not sure best course of action.
All the recipient schools will have no probs with this.
@Sam-I-Am I would contact the schools in question. Many schools will not blame the student for circumstances beyond their control as long as the rest of the application has been sent. I have seen some reports here where the school accepted screen shots of test scores as place holders until they received official scores. I remember last year when an SAT sitting was cancelled in many testing centers on the east coast due to inclement weather and the schools accommodated. There was also a case of lengthy delays in grading the essay portion of one of the major tests.
Thanks mamaedefamilia and T26E4. The real problem is D1 has no screen shots of scores because the College Board has posted no scores for her 11/3/16 subject tests even though it is now 2017. I will have her continue to log in to her account to check. She has to turn a bunch of applications in today. She even has a scheduled interview tomorrow with MIT but she has no chemistry score.
^ @Sam-I-Am Again, most schools should be sympathetic. It if says on their website that the last testing date they will consider is Dec. 3, then they should wait for the scores. Colleges and universities are accustomed to snafus from the major testing companies. This is not the first time this has happened, nor will it be the last. There is a section on the common app for special circumstances. Your D could use that to explain that she is waiting on scores from Dec. 3 and that there has been a delay beyond her control. Her MIT interviewer will not need her SAT II scores in hand.
You also are not required to self-report test scores on the common app. However, if she desires, maybe she can put in Chemistry, the test date, and TBD for the result.
Got the scores the evening of January 5, quite a bit late!
