Took SAT with Essay and now taking SAT with NO Essay Help

Hey guys,
The first time I took the SAT, I took it with the optional essay. Now I’m taking the SAT again but I forgot to add the essay.
My questions are

  1. How will not taking the essay affect my total score for the SAT?
  2. Are the essay scores separate from the total SAT score?

The essay score is separate from the SAT score. Your essay scores will range from 2-8 and will not affect your CR/W score.

Do you have any reason that you want to take the essay? There are obviously some schools that require it - but most don’t.

If you search up “Collegeboard college essay policies” you’ll find a list of every college with their policy on the new essay next to it. You can see all the colleges you are interested in to see if they will want it or not all on that one page.

Just a side question, will I be able to superscore a new SAT w/essay with a new SAT without essay?
