FYI, this is wjb's daughter posting from her name.

I am a recent Wash U grad. Since graduation, Ive been working in advertising. However, after a period of soul searching, I have decided to switch gears. Im now planning on going back to school to get my Masters in elementary education. In order to apply to programs, I need to take the GRE. Unfortunately for me, however, Ive already taken the GMAT.

To prep for the GMAT, I took a Kaplan classroom-based course. I found it to be terribly helpful and ultimately scored a 680 on the examsignificantly higher than my initial diagnostic score. My qualitative scores were much higher than my quantitative scores. As far as I know, the GRE is much less numbers-based than the GMAT, as is more heavily skewed towards my strengths. I am not about to drop another 1500 dollars to take a Kaplan course and assume there will be at least some overlap between the GRE and GMAT. Generally, I'm a strong standardized test taker, but my qualitative skills are stronger than my quantitative skills.

I am wondering if anyone can provide me with some insight as to how to prepare on my own and the differences between the two tests.
