Top 1% for ACT but average GPA. Chances at top schools

Hi guys these are my stats

ACT: 33
S:35
E:34
M:29
R:35
Important note: I did not study at all for the ACT. If I retake them, I have a very god chance of getting a 35/36. However I hear that this will affect my chances because my GPA is low. In other words, the disparity between my statistics will make me look like i’m super lazy. (which to be honest I am) Should I retake them?)

GPA: 3.5/4.5 UW
Freshman GPA: 3.0
Sophomore GPA: 3.5
Junior GPA: 4.0
(more or less)

How much will this upward trend help me?

I took few AP’s but a good amount of honors courses. My school offers few AP’s which i hear helps.

Please let me know my chances at:
U of Miami
U of Wisconsin
U of Michigan
U of Notre Dame
Dartmouth

I understand these are all at very different tiers, I just want to know where i’m at for each

Extra info:

NJ resident
come from very good HS
intended major finance
Strong EC’s
Good essay

Does your fiancee know you plan to major in her?

lol I told you I am lazy. Forgot to spell check it

Unless you have some hooks, Dartmouth is a big reach.

Lazy? You’ve started a similar thread 4 times. Thats not lazy, thats persistent!

4 years of varsity water polo?

Just to clarify. By scoring a 35/36 on my ACT, I would be labeling myself as lazy and thus, undesirable. The low GPA compared with the high ACT would allow colleges to read me like the lazy book that I am. Any suggestions? Is my guidance counselor exaggerating when she is telling me this? Will scoring a better ACT do more harm than good?

Now, I gotta admit that’s the first time I’ve seen that question on here.

I know it sounds weird but then again most people with 35/36’s have the GPA to match.

^ look at college apps (about.com) act(sat)/GPA charts for admissions at a few colleges and that will give u a good idea.

Why risk it.

for a better chance at getting in at schools like notre dame and dartmouth

One or 3 points won’t matter. Get your grades up

I got a lot of responses but can anyone actually chance me for these schools?
