I think my school Indiana university Purdue university-Indianapolis has a nice campus because it is right in the heart of downtown indy and is very modern. IUPUI is so full of life and knowledge.

^kinda plain

DukeBlueDevils, I'm going to have to disagree with your MIT and Harvard being in the Top 10. Someone should put Dartmouth right up there.

haven't visited dartmouth so can't comment, but mit seriously r you kidding me: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/ac/MIT_Dome_night1_Edit.jpg/800px-MIT_Dome_night1_Edit.jpg

I visit MIT once every couple of weeks, and the dome does look pretty nice when it lights up at night. However, the campus as a whole is just seriously...ugh. Imagine a very urban setting with smokestacks, factories, and sketchy shops lined up in between the college campus buildings. That's not what comes to my mind when I think of a beautiful college campus.

At MIT the dome and adjacent quad are kind of nice, but the rest of the campus is very ugly.

It's pretty hard to keep buildings in the city clean. BU has the same problem.

i think MIT is one of the most unattrative campuses i've seen

It's not that they're dirty, it's just that apart from the quad by the dome the buildings are generally quite uninspiring, ugly and not laid out in any sort of logical or aesthetically pleasing manner. I realize of course that MIT makes up for this in many other areas, but the first time I visited there I was a bit like "wow, this place is ugly."

One thing that I've noticed in cities with a lot of vehicle traffic is university buildings that get a sooty residue on them. Compare the look of the buildings in urban settings to the buildings at Boston College and you'll see what I mean. Last time I was at BC, there was scaffolding around Gasson Hall. I'm not sure if they were doing cleaning or construction work but the buildings do look nice from the outside.

I haven't been to MIT in a while but the classrooms could use a bit of an update too.

since you insist, i'll remove MIT from the list :)

lol when did uc berkeley make a beautiful campus...
stanford owns all

yale
middlebury
stanford
williams
haverford
swathmore
university of hawaii (come on, its in HAWAII, its got to be gorgeous lol)

Mount holyoke!

I would have to say University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (even though the town it's in is ugly) and Vassar. Vassar is just... majestic.

Smith College is truly beautiful! The landscaping was designed by Frederick Law Olmstead (who also designed Central Park in NYC). It includes a beautiful lake (Paradise Pond), botanical gardens, interesting architecture, and even waterfalls. It's also beautiful in the New England Fall. Gorgeous!

Are you kidding? Indiana University is a top 5, HANDS DOWN.
I'm surprised it's not brought up more.

By the way, the architects of Indiana University-bloomington
designed it to the exact same way as another famous university...
Oh yah. OXFORD.

wow, very pretty

University of Washington
Scripps/Pomona College...all the Claremont schools except Harvey Mudd
Brown University
Whitman College
Wellesley College (= Hogwarts)

Those are the particular colleges that struck me for being quite beautiful. I used to think that the UW was pretty ugly, but after going back there some more and seeing the rose bushes with the view of Mt. Rainier, I changed my mind.
