Top 20 Chances

Hello College Confidential,

I am a rising (asian, female) senior. I will be applying to college in the fall and I was just wondering what you think my chances of any of the top 20 schools in the US are.

Feel free to ask me any questions, but I'll just start out with a few of my stats:

GPA: 4.0/4.0 (unweighted)

SAT: 2300

SAT II Math II: 800
SAT II Biology E: 780

AP Tests (total of 21)
Chemistry: 5
Biology: 5
Physics B: 5
Physics C Mechanics: 4
Macroeconomics: 5
Calculus BC: 5 (AB Sub-score: 5)
Comparative Politics: 5
Government: 5
World History: 5
Computer Science: 3
Language and Composition: 5
Literature and Composition: 4
Art History: 4
European History: 4
Microeconomics: 5
Physics C Electricity & Magnetism: 4
Human Geography: 5
Environmental Science: 5
Psychology: 5
Statistics: 5
US History: 4

Extracurricular Activities: Girls Track and Field, Girls Tennis, DECA, Business Professionals of America, Science Club, Connect 9 Leader (a program that helps freshman get acquainted with the school), Key Club, National Honor Society

Other: Currently doing research at a University, working an internship, and a marketing job.

Do you have community service? If so how many hours? What schools specifically are you looking at (I am assuming you are not looking at all 20)? Do you plan to apply EA/ED? If so where?

Any leadership?

You have the “stats” to be admitted any where. However your admission at the top 20 schools will come down to your essays, letters of rec., excellence & leadership in your EC’s, & intangibles such as demographics of you & other applicants, “fit”, etc.

I’m not entirely sure where I want to apply yet, but I know I am going to do:

Princeton, Harvard, Yale, Stanford, UChicago, Northwestern, Cornell

and I have over 100 volunteer hours at various organizations

It would be better if you had over 100 at one place, that being said if you have strong leadership, essays and recommendations you will have a good shot. If you decide to apply EA/ED that will also help your chances.
