Top 40 -> Top 25 -> Top 15??

Applying: Northwestern, Brown, Cornell, Notre Dame

Current University: Top 25 (Fall 2010-present)
GPA: 3.6 (one semester)
Major: Economics

Previous University: Top 40 (Fall 2009-Spring 2010)
GPA: 3.45

(My grades show a steady, upward trend)

HS GPA: 3.5 (UW)
SAT: 2000
Extra Curric's: varsity athlete (swimming), prop trader for a firm, school finance program, president young investors club, sorority member

Does anyone think I'd have a shot at these schools? And is it going to hurt my chances given that I'm applying to transfer yet again? Where are my weakness and how can I offset them?

All and any advice is very much appreciated! Thank you.

What are your desires for transferring? Is it just simply to attend schools that are higher ranked according to US News and World Report?

simply climbing the rankings is not an appropriate explanation for why you wish to transfer. you will need to provide a more substantial reason, such as the fact that your current university does not provide your intended field of specialization.

*Rankings have very little to do with my reasons for wanting to transfer, just to clarify

Btw, @AdoptedCheeseNip, extremely hypocritical, don’t you think?

“This year, I want to try again for those elite schools. I know that I have it in me to succeed there. It’s not that I don’t like Emory, but I know that the universities that rank among the best of the best provide more abundant opportunities for jobs in the future.”

lovelaughlive,

If rankings have very little to do with your reasons for wanting to transfer, why is the title of your thread Top 40 -> Top 25 -> Top 15? What can a top 15 school offer you that your 16-25 school can’t? Why did you transfer from your 26-40 school to your current school?

Just curious.

How are you even able to transfer twice and meet graduation requirements? Did you transfer during your freshman year or something like that? Or are you planning on an extra semester/ year?
