A separate peace

Of Mice and Men

Pride and Prejudice

Oliver twist

War and Peace (wasn't assigned in english, but used it to challenge myself 1,000+ pages)

Brave New World
The Things They Carried
Crime and Punishment
The Great Gatsby
Of Mice and Men

Also noteworthy: Jane Eyre, Catch-22, Fahrenheit 451 (which was in 7th or 8th grade English but it still counts! We also read Ender’s Game in that class, which was great), 1984.

The Great Gatsby (11th Grade)

A Separate Peace (10th Grade)

Night (Eli Weasel) (10th Grade)

Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry (7th Grade)

Number the Stars (8th Grade)

Eighth grade was the year I had three English Classes. :)

The Kite Runner

The Namesake

Long Way Gone: Memoir of a Boy Soldier

The Sun Also Rises

The Odyssey

A Separate Peace (9th grade)
Catcher in the Rye (9th grade)
Romeo and Juliet (8th grade)
The Castle in the Attic (3rd grade) haha that book was very good for me to remember it
Number the Stars (4th grade) We read at least one holocaust book a year in my school, I don’t know my school just really like reading about the holocaust
The Giver (7th grade)

Oh, that’s six. Whatever. Yeah all my favorite books were ones from a while ago. We haven’t done sh**t it my english class this year besides skipping around the Odyssey to the point where it doesn’t make any sense.

Yup. It was a great book. I feel like my school reads a lot of books usually read later, but then we read some things traditionally read earlier at other schools, just depends.

Night
The Giver
Animal Farm
A Christmas Carol
The Mitten (hey, 1st grade counts!)

There have only been two books I absolutely hated to read, Coffin and the Case and Roll of Thunder, Hear my cry in 5th and 6th grade. I also never read past the first third of Eva, but I still got a perfect score on the project for that :)

-------------------------------------------If it is to be, it is up to me…

The Great Gatsby (10th Grade)
Cat’s Cradle (10th Grade)
A Tale of Two Cities (9th Grade)
Fahrenheit 451 (8th Grade)
Catcher in the Rye (9th Grade)

I honestly despised The Giver. It was like Ayn Rand wrote a book for children, and I mean that in the least flattering way possible. I’m only a Sophomore, so this list will definitely change. Our AP English classes are supposed to have great novels in their curriculum (like Crime and Punishment, which I have yet to read but I’m looking forward to due to the rave reviews).

1) Animal Farm
2) The Scarlet Letter (i can surprisingly relate to Hester among other parts of the book)
3) The Kite Runner
4) Romeo and Juliet (its a classic for a reason)
5) Of Mice and Men
