that get into schools like usc and ucla and ucb ive noticed have very bad jobs, why? when i think of those names i think of cash money...but i dont wanna be like them

Going to a highly ranked school does not guarantee a successful career after graduation --far from it. Success in the professional world is more dependent upon the individual and their motivation, and unique personality, than it is upon academia.

I don't really want to give a detailed response since the Melatonin I took 30 minutes ago is beginning to take hold, but if you do not want to end up like those holding 'bad jobs,' I would suggest that you get involved professionally in your major be it through internships, research, or job experience. Much of the professional world is about who you know, who knows you, and your charisma; simply listing a BA from Berkeley, UCLA, or USC in Economics may get you an interview at a top firm, but it will *never *clinch the deal. This then extends into a discussion about the well-rounded student vs the lopsidedly academic student who cannot hold a conversation --something relatively self-evident, which others can tell you about.
