Top Honor Weekend

Does anyone know if you spend the night in the dorms for the Top Honors Weekend? Looked at the proposed schedule and it says the day ends at 5pm. I thought the students spend the night in the Honors dorm and have an evening program.

I read some time ago they don’t do that anymore.

Where did you see a schedule? My son has not received anything yet. He is registered for the March 5-6 program.

During orientation (May and June) the student spends the night in a dorm-- It’s not great to spend the night while the students are on campus- there are no extra beds!

I had my s go on the portal and where it said top scholars weekend it had a tentative schedule. We will be going the same weekend from CA.

Called and spoke to admissions. Confirmed that they do not sleep in the dorms and there is no evening event. That’s too bad. I heard that was part of the hook of getting these students to commit. My S is also going the first session and we are from California too.

Thanks for the information, I will be sure to have my son look for the schedule. I have heard that the dorm sleepover has been a bit of a mixed bag, withs kids complaining that their hosts essentially ignored them. We will be traveling from PA.

We are also going down that first weekend in March, S was able to print out a schedule from his portal - although it looks like they will be given a more detailed schedule when they arrive. Traveling from Chicago - looking forward to some warmer weather and good food.

Going to this weekend sealed the deal for DD a couple years ago (now a Sophomore at Tulane), Tulane put on a good program. It was her second visit to the school and confirmed that she would “fit” there. And she was glad she did not spend the night on someone’s floor, the first day was a busy program and she was tired.

They’re still working on the final schedule for Top Scholars Weekend but there is a sample schedule online. They no longer offer students to stay overnight in the dorms so you’ll have to find your own accommodation.
