I had extremely competitive stats in high school but I chose to go to a relatively unknown undergrad for the free tuition. My goal was law school and I was told that it doesn't matter where you go for undergrad, so it's best to go somewhere cheap.

However, now I'm having second thoughts and I'm kind of interested in a career on Wall Street or in business. I'm a Sophomore Economics major at the moment with a 3.9 GPA but my school is completely off the radar.

There's no way I could break into somewhere like Goldman Sachs out of my undergrad due to its lack of name recognition but I was told that a top MBA could get one into a good business/firm.

I'm able to get good grades and probably a competitive GMAT score but I'm afraid that I might not have the right work experience coming out of my college to be competitive for the top MBA programs. I'm not sure I can get that 2 year analyst job at a bulge bracket bank to impress the MBA admission boards, even with a near 4.0 GPA from my current school.

Any thoughts on traversing the path to a top MBA from an unknown school? Is it possible?
