Honors Colleges are not for everyone. As a Parent of an Engineering major, some programs were not worthwhile as my student couldn’t take advantage. With 2 more high school students, this book is a must for our family.
For our family, it wasn’t about choosing a top Honors College. It was about choosing an Honors College my student could take advantage of while meeting the student’s other academic goals. This is why the book is invaluable IMHO. The description goes beyond ranking.
I bought the book and found it unreadable. I realize it was not intended to be read, but I believe it would be more useful with a write-up for each – not the marketing stuff on the college website, but a dispassionate assessment. For example, it is useful to know how nice the honors dorms are!
