I know that schools like Stanford, Harvard, and Princeton have GREAT financial packages, especially when it comes to middle class families, but how many other top schools are like this?
For example, someone who makes 160k-180k will pay somewhere between 20-28k or so at Princeton which are great numbers compared to smaller schools such as UChic or Tufts, where the numbers would be closer to 40k.
So my question to you guys is which schools have similar financial packages? - including all the IVY’s, top 20s, LAC, etc. THANKS SO MUCH!
I don’t know why people should run numbers based on your family when they are busy running their own numbers. Try Yale. I think you an count colleges that give ‘superaid’ on one hand.
Are you sure about those numbers for $160k+?
Princeton’s aid is pretty complicated, I don’t think you can generalize on income alone like that.
Princeton is the richest college in terms of endowment per student. They could afford to give full aid to every single student enrolled if they wanted to.
Why don’t you put your family’s financial numbers into the net price calculator of each school you are interested in?
Focus on schools that give MERIT aid. That decouples the amt of aid from your family’s income.
$160,000-$180,000 a year is a bit higher than “middle class” income.
Do you plan to retake the SAT? My opinion…your CR SAT of 690 will not shine at the schools you have listed. Their generous need based financial aid will be of no use to you unless you get accepted.
