@KevRus: #11 was one of my favorites… except when it rained and the trickle over the falls turned into a raging torrent. lol

1 It was 11:30pm on Weds Oct. 27th when my roommate and I heard a girl hysterically screaming. My roommate ran outside and I ran after her. A couple sec. later the girl who was screaming was hovered by folks who also ran outside to help her. She was assaulted outside my apt. She only lived one block away. According to the girl, the perpetrator kicked her from behind in an attempt to rob her. She immediately fell to the ground and was beaten and dragged on the floor. When folks came out, the hooded perpetrator got in a car where a women was driving. Both perpetrators were black and had dreads.

We walked the girl into our building and into our Managers room to clean up. Her whole face was bleeding, lost teeth, most likely had brain injuries, and of course she was still in shock. Police arrived 10 min. after we walked her into the Managers room. It was the most surreal sight to see a student beaten only 2 1/2 blocks away from campus and still somewhat early time of the night.
2 Someone was assaulted in front of my apartment as well. … A male student ran up to her and was extremely shaken up and bleeding. He told her someone had driven up to him and held a gun to him. It’s all very scary and getting way out of hand.

Berkeley <3.

^that might be one of the most caustic sarcastic comments I’ve heard in a while…wow that is scary and a little depressing. Thankfully nothing has happened to me or any of my close peers so far and god forbid something ever should.

omg…is that for real?

i hate this place :(

I only know of one person who’s been mugged. It was on AC transit a couple years back.

man thats sad and pretty close to where i live so it scares me slightly. i mean sometimes i feel sorry for guys, but sometimes not really (no offense, anyone-this is in context of that blog).

i was walking down telegraph at like 11 pm last night to visit my friend’s place and there was this guy around my age walking behind/beside me. im not really the scared type at any rate but i thought it was weird that he literally stopped like a foot from me and randomly smiled at me (considering the hour) and i just gave a sort of tight smile since i was confused and on the phone anyhow and i dont really try to make small talk with random strangers at night. it was awkward because when the light changed and we crossed we were the only people on telegraph for like a block so he must have thought i was ignoring him or “pretending” to be on the phone for safety when i wasnt (except that i actually was) and then he fell a few paces behind, turned to me and was like “can i ask you a question?”. me: uhhh, sure why not. and then he basically asked me if girls honestly walked around at night constantly wondering if every guy on the road is going to either mug them or rape them and i guess he was trying to imply that i was acting like i was suspicious of him, but honestly even if he had been female and started walking right behind me and then purposely smiled at me at 12 am on telegraph i still would have been weirded out. but after that i answered, no i dont think think that about every guy i see, which is true, but it IS strange if you smile at someone at that hour right? isnt it more of the norm to just pretend you dont see each other? i mean he was ok, i think he just really wanted an answer to that question lol but telegraph is one sketchy place any time of day, let alone midnight.

^waitingforcollege, I think any doubts, fears or suspicious you might have had were completely reasonable.

@W4C: I walk around at night thinking that. As a kid, I was pretty much indoctrinated to think like that. When I’m out at night and alone, I walk with my keys in my hand in what I like to call “stabbing” position. Call me paranoid, but better safe than sorry.

thanks Diivio and jb lol

but my point was that i DONT walk around thinking that. its that dude that was programmed to assume thats what i automatically think of any guy walking on the street. if its a random guy minding his own business and not literally getting up in my face and smiling at me and walking 12 inches to my right when there is a whole sidewalk open, i could care less that you are there-its a free country after all and i get that you as a guy shouldnt have to feel uncomfortable wondering what is running through a girl’s minds when you might be just running your own errands or whatnot. but sometimes its guys who are paranoid thinking girls are thinking they (the guy) is going to attack them when really i might be planning what to eat later or something. what i dont get: those guys who act SUSPICIOUSLY and then complain that girls are wary of them for “no apparent reason” like the dude i had my little encounter with, not just any and every anatomically male body.

I don’t know about you, but I like to dress up as Batman at night. My suit is always ready.

what you like to dress up in and do while wearing your costume in the privacy of your home is your business dude. but yeah…i guess i like to dress up like…a watch-or a clock?..yeah that doesnt really work for me

and im sorry…but HOW exactly does that relate to what i was talking about lol? random as usual lol

We have the most creative squirrels in the country. End of argument.

you finish the FSI app?

its taking me agesssssssss to answer these q’s. SOB, ugh.

btw totally sorry for jacking your thread Diivio  too lazy to start a new one

lol no problem, if you don’t mind me asking, what’s an FSI app?

OMG I’m on question 1c. hahahahaha fail… lemme guess are you hitting 1 page per question
