Oxbridge have the top two programs in law and medicine in the UK. And Harvard is not exactly well known for engineering. In fact, Cambridge and perhaps Oxford have better engineering programs.

If we are talking about the top 3 overall, I would have to go with Harvard, Stanford and Cal.

Its easily Harvard, Cal, and Stanford.

The one thing I have against Harvard is their weak engineering program (I believe it’s ranked 26). On the other hand, HBS, HMS, HLS, and JFK grad schools are decades ahead of Stanford, Penn, etc.

With that being said, Stanford and Oxbridge (any of the two - both are an excellent education) and Harvard definitely deserve to be on the list.

don’t worry about Harvard in Engineering in the future…

I believe that it is putting emphasis in that department, students are increasingly entering as engineering majors and I wouldn’t be surprised if Harvard ends ups cracking the top 10 in engineering within a decade…

Shouldn’t Badri-Kedar University be in the list of the universities at the … top?

come on folks, you all know the real answer here:

Princeton

Princeton

Princeton

JUST KIDDING!

I would guess:

Harvard

Stanford

UC Berkeley/MIT

IvyPBear, if your gonna make a thread called “top three”…grow a pair and only pick 3 schools

Using that logic you could lump Harvard and MIT together even more easily. Lots of collaboration such as the Broad Institute, full cross-registration for classes, and physically much closer that Berkeley and UCSF. Lumped together Harvard and MIT would be unbeatable in pretty much any ranking scenario anyone cares to name.

Their football team would be mediocre

Cambridge is definitely one there with oxford…

If we’re combining schools…

Harvard/MIT
Oxbridge
UC

Top 3 should be Harvard, Oxford, and Cambridge. Berkeley isnt even the best in the US. Hell, it’s not even the best in California… and dont get me started with MIT.

Harvard

Stanford

between Berkeley, UChicago, Cambridge, and Oxford

THE ULTIMATE MIX OF SOCIAL SCIENCES AND PHYSICAL SCIENCES:
- HARVARD+MIT
- YALE+CALTECH
- OXBRIDGE
- STANFORD+U.of CHICAGO

Lumping Harvard and MIT creates a juggernaut

Berkeley will not survive California’s financial crisis – or, at least, will not survive with its pre-eminence intact. Tragic but true.

Top three for the next decade – Harvard, Chicago, Stanford.

1) MIT/Stanford
2) Harvard/Chicago
3) Cambridge/Yale

1) Harvard
…
…
…
Oxford, Cambridge, Princeton fight for 2) and 3)

I would probably put Stanford on there if I weren’t biased against it.

1) Harvard
2) Stanford/MIT/Chicago
3) Oxford/Cambridge
