Top undergrad b-school, but low-ranked school for Masters?

Hey guys quick question:

I graduated from a top 10 undergraduate business school in finance and am currently working in NY. Down the road, I eventually want to get a CPA. But in order to qualify and sit for exam, I need to pass a handful of accounting courses. I was thinking it would be most financially sensible to go to CUNY Baruch part-time and get a Masters in Accountancy after 5-6 semesters worth of accounting classes. The thing is that I after the MS and the CPA, I eventually want an MBA from a top 10 b-school.

Does attending Baruch for a MS detrimental to my chances at a top 10 b-school, assuming I have 90%+ percentile GRE/GMAT scores and relevant work experience?

Thanks.

Why would you get an mba in the first place if you want to be an accountant?
If you don’t want to be an accountant, why get a cpa?

Your post makes no sense.

It’s not that I want to be an accountant. It’s more that getting a CPA would open up more opportunities in finance and business type roles for me in the future and something very useful to have if all else fails. Not every CPA becomes an accountant right?

Why would a cpa open up finance or general business opportunities?
It’s an accounting certification.
It’s absolutely meaningless unless you work in public accounting or certain related accounting positions.
Most states also require public accounting work experience to get a cpa.

There’s no reason to get it unless you intend on going into accounting.
