Hi, I was wondering which universities in the US are considered the best to study Economics? I'm planning on doing my major on economics and finance and then moving on to obtain an MBA, and hopefully land a job in investment banking.

Best schools for econ: UChicago (by far the best of the best), ivies, top LAC's

Note that these schools might not have finance. If you want both, you should check out Michigan, Wharton, Stern.

BS in Economics and a leader in I-Banking placements.

http://www.wharton.upenn.edu/

First chose between Econ and Finance and then, get back to us. Of the top 15 Econ programs, only 7 offer Finance to undergrads.

how about harvard? how good is their eco. program?

Harvard is great. Economics is such a "main stream" majors that most top schools have great econ departments at the UG level.
