<p>so, on the common app there's an option out of the 6 essays to write on a "topic of your choice" but on the Yale supplement, there is also a required essay in which the topic is "entirely up to you" </p>
<p>Would it be bad if I did both essays on my own topics? or should I choose one of the other options on the common app?</p>
<p>I'm writing two essays on topics of my own choosing. Besides the fact that it is much easier, I am also able to express a certain sense of creativeness. I really have no personal experience but I am can safely say that Adcoms prefer reading 2 wonderful essays on unique topics than a medicore one coupled with a wonderful one. So my advice just write two great essays on what you want to write about.</p>
