I'm a CA resident and I'm going to be pursuing biological sciences with a pre-vet intention. I got into UCB CNR for environmental and molecular bio and into UW for a pre-science major. Which do you guys think will help me get plenty of experience and research opportunities as well as a wonderful quality of life? :)
thanks so much!

If you are thinking of going to a vet school in washington eventually, then going to U of Washington may help you establish residency and thus gain admission to their vet school more easily. You’ll still be considered a resident of CA when applying to CA schools, so this you’ll have advantages in two states.

I think both schools have great programs, with lots of research opportunities so it’s really up to your preference.

yeah, im not really sure where I want to go to vet school ( my dream is tufts, but that’s not going to happen :)) thanks for your help

I’m from washington, applied and got in to UW and Cal. Definitely choosing cal > uw, but this could just be cause i’m trying to get out of my rainy hometown =[. However, if you’re looking for excellent pre vet/vet program (didn’t sound like it, but…) then Wa state U is the place to be. However, it is faaar below the caliber of a place like cal. I mean, 450 sat’s get in regularly. Anyways. Cal has an unbeatable reputation and is in a much warmer more metropolitain place. UW has the ave, which is about 30% as cool as telegraph and that’s pretty much it. not worth the out of state tuition to me.
