Yo so i have vuze/utorrent/limewire and those kind of programs that download files. I know i was talking to somebody that its possible to download, you just have to block p2p sharing or something like that? I don’t think it’s necessarily firewalls at davis, because you can still download ****, they’ll just catch you doing it. So anybody know how to hide your ip address or something like that which will make it work? thanks.

Just be smart and don’t do it. Every single year, someone gets caught for downloading, thinking they can get away with it but Student Housing has ways to monitor bandwidth and they’ll trace it right back to you.

It’s not worth the risk. If caught, your internet gets shut off and you get referred to judicial affairs. I got accused of downloading back in 2003, my internet got shut off as I was reading the email informing me of what I had done. Anyway, I hadn’t actually downloaded anything, and I had never seen the movie they accused me of downloading. Bottom line is that they do monitor everything, strictly, sometimes the people who mask ip’s through them off the trail temporarily, but they will find you. It’s not fun trying to get internet reinstated!
