Just want to report that our 6 year old African Grey has added “roll tide” to her list of calls!

Another inadvertent BAMA fan.

Back to work now. No more nonsense :)

^^^With or without an authentic Dixie drawl? :)

That’s right…

The cheerleaders do tend to have a bit of drawl, so when they say it, it’s Roll Tiiiiide (with a soft d)

I love regional accents. The spice of life. When I arrived in East Lansing, Michigan to attend grad school at Michigan State, I was checking out at the super market and the cashier said to me, “Hey, you’re from California, aren’t you? Southern California.”

I was floored. I never thought I had an accent (and trust me, du-u-u-de, I don’t have that caricatured “Valley Speak” patois we’ve all heard parodied on TV and in the movies).

Roll Tiiiiide!

People always know I’m from Southern California because I talk fast and make contractions out of words that aren’t… LOL Didja gonna wanna etc

^^^Gotcha.

Oh, MY! I fear its just a plain ol’ California accented “Roll Tide” …the cheer leaders might not even recognize it!

^^^Good enough for government work, I say! Why don’t you make a YouTube video of your parrot belting it out and let us know when it’s online :)

^^^

LOL…it will be a big hit for all the Tide fans! :)

I’ll give that a go in a couple of weeks when the school year is over. I fear she doesn’t perform well on demand but will try to share! She does have a crimson tail!
