So I totally blew highschool. 2.5/3.8 GPA, 1590 SAT score, didn't care about anything, no clubs, hardly any extra circular activities, turned in the required amount of community service hours in order to graduate the last week it was due, got kicked out of IB, partied a lot, never studied for an AP, back stabbed by my best friends, only real friend now is my girlfriend, problems at home… you get the idea. I acted like a total twit. I don't want to seem brash or arrogant, being humble is actually one of my top priorities, but believe it or not, I know that I am a bright kid. I have philosophical questions about the world and I am constantly reading and studying things on my own. My dad was a student and professor at both Duke/Dartmouth and Columbia respectively but not even that gave me the drive to study harder (for easier admission). I am very interested in economics, politics, AVIATION (my passion), ethics (which is what my father taught), geography, and I am a bit interested in psychology. My problem that I face now is my next step. I have 2 colleges that I have been given the option to attend (I must select one by Friday). One, a decent 4 year university close to home and the other, a feeder school to the University of Florida. The feeder school is more costly, and is only a 2 year school. However, I REALLY like Gainesville (where the school is located) and have spent my summer there visiting my girlfriend, whom attends UF. It is probably hard for many to believe, but she is not the reason I want to go there. If she were to break up with me tomorrow, I would still be just as convinced about Gainesville. There are also some other external factors why I just want to leave home, some more personal than others but they will ultimately have a strong influence on my decision. I want to experience new things and I have trouble studying here and quite frankly, I do not like the city in which I live. Another idea I had was to take a year off and do somethings on my own, but honestly I would much rather just start already. What should I do???

I would do the 2 year school because it will give you a chance to adjust before going to another school (such as UF). You don’t want a repeat of high school in college.
