Tough Situation!!!!!

I am in a difficult situation. I'm currently a junior and received a 2020 (640v, 640w, 740m) on my SAT I from the April SAT I. I just took the SAT II Biology and I think I will get between 650 and 750. My goal is to apply Early Action to Stanford before the November 1st deadline. The problem is I have to take the SAT I at least one more time (maybe twice). Also, the SAT IIC Math is recommended by Stanford. Which test should I take on June 3rd and which test on October 14th? Should I even take the Math IIC or just take the SAT I two more times? Please advise me. I'm open to all suggestions.

Retake the SAT I first and see how you do. If you are not happy with your score then retake it again. If your score pleases you then take the Math IIC. Just remember that if Stanford recommends that you take the Math IIC it is probably a good idea to. However, I was under the impression that the SAT I is more important than the SAT IIs so I would first establish a strong SAT I score.

If you're taking a class like precalc definetely take math 2c (now referred to as math 2) in june. You definetely want math to be fresh in your head, and then you can study for SAT over the summer and i believe you will have atleast 2 test dates to take SAT 1 that Stanford will see.

i think math 2 is required, not recommended

I'm a parent, not a student, but S. is going through similar decisions. I agree with previous poster, who recommends taking math when it's freshest in your mind. Also, do you need more time to study for the SATI, or did you just have a bad day? Our son studied hard for the April SAT, but didn't do nearly as well as he'd hoped. He felt he knew the material, but paniced a bit, ran out of time, etc. He took the test again in May with no more preparation and thought he did a lot better (will find out in a few weeks). Just knowing what to expect helped the most. Last, our guidance counselor suggested the ACT as an additional possibility. If you happen to score very well, it's worth submitting. If not, you just don't send it.
