I don't know about the worst, but my favorite is Chapman's: "Imagine it is your first day at Chapman University. Tell us about it."

I didn't apply there, but my boyfriend did, and he wrote a cute and very funny little diary entry about moving him and fighting with his mom and making friends with his roommate.

I eventually got the hang of "why our college" essays, but the worst one in my opinion is the "what do you contribute to our school?"

ehh i hate writing, i like my thoughts as they are in my mind, cause they always come out much crappier on paper as well as speech

"How will the Haverford Honor Code change your life?"

...I won't cheat anymore. Beats me.

^^^ I agree, I don't know how to answer that Haverford question

I thought one of UNC's short essays was hard to do - "What advice would you give to a 10-year-old?" Every idea that went through my head, I crossed out ten minutes later because I knew other people would have already thought of it. I think I personally ended up choosing another short essay.

I hate those that ask what or how you can contribute to the college, i mean, what do they expect us to write???

those contirbution essays are tough...you want to brag about how great you'll be at _______ without sounding like your bragging :)
amherst's cryptic quotes are annoying too
