I am going to tour Northeastern next week and had some questions.

Along with the Campus tour should I do the information session? What exactly do they talk about during it and do you feel that it's worth it to do?

Along with the Campus tour should I do the information session? What exactly do they talk about during it and do you feel that it's worth it to do?

They go through stats and admissions questions, etc. I’m a tour guide, and especially for next week, you should really go to an info session. A lot of people in the area have next week off, so the tour sizes will be larger than normal. While the VC will obviously try to get as many tour guides as possible to keep the size minimal, sometimes there is no physical way for enough tour guides to be there to meet demand.

When tours are larger, typically more passive people won’t ask their questions because they’ll sort of just shuffle around in the back. (Note: you really really shouldn’t be one of these people. You should always be near the front and ask questions loudly) Info sessions let you ask questions and hear all of the most commonly asked ones, so that you’ll be sure not to miss anything during a tour.

If you were going at 9:30 on a thursday in September, then sure don’t bother with the info session because your tour will probably just be you and the guide so you can ask as many questions as you want. But next week? Prepare for it to be busy.

My mom makes sure I am always talking to the tour guide during college tours so I know to do that. I do know how busy it will be and will probably end up going to info session because it can’t hurt I guess

Just want to warn you again- today the VC had over 1000 students booked for tours and infos, and that’s not including the people that just showed up without pre-registering.

I knew that since I was at a school two weeks ago that told us most of the schools in the Northeast will have over 1000 on President’s Day. I know the rest of the week will be busy too but I am thinking that it will die down alittle by Thursday when I am going since it’s towards the end of the week more. Either way I will make sure I am by the tour guide the whole tour to get the full experience.

I understand that vacation weeks are busy but I can not go any other time. Starting next week I have softball so I can not leave town and all summer I can not go because schools are out of session and my parents can not get off in the summer. So, if I did not go this week I would not be able to go untill afer I applied.

Oh I totally understand. I was from out of state, so literally the only time I could visit schools here was when EVERYONE was visiting…
