Tours

Are reservations required for info sessions, etc? I can’t seem to find it on the website.

no you just show up at whatever time to the admissions office. I believe tours are at 10 and 2...or at least thats when i see the prefrosh walking around with their little infor bags.

Hi Hi!

Nope, reservations are not required, unless you have a large group of people coming (I forget if it's >20 or >10, but either way, more than just a family)... Info sessions are at 10 and 1, and tours are at 11 and 2. The tour is about an hour15 to an hour and a half, depending on the weather and who your guide is.

If you come to visit on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, I may be your guide- so watch out! :)

hope you dont mind me asking a question in this thread

im going to be at UPenn for this whole summer doing a program, do you think it would be beneficial to 'visit' or go on tours multiple times to show interest ( do they track this?)

Even if they do track it I'm not sure it matters. I know many people (myself included) that got in without stepping foot in the campus or having further contact with admissions.

"the prefrosh walking around with their little infor bags" that was me during Previews :P

Are you there now, Bern? You may have seen me on Friday if you are lol.

Hi, I was looking for directions to 1 College Hall on yahoo and mapquest, but both could not find the location and gave me different directions to different places...lol any ideas?

you won't find it on mapquest because its not on a street...to get to 1 college hall you need to go to perelman quad and you will see the admissions office right there. College hall is between 36th and 34th between locust walk and spruce.

http://www.facilities.upenn.edu/mapsBldgs/view_map.php3?id=205

here is a map to where the building is...the entrace to ug admissions is through perelman quad.

just wondering if there's any parking on campus? lol

there are a few parking garages but you do have to pay for them...40th and Walnut, 38th and Walnut, and 33rd and Chestnut...those are all open to the public I believe.

thanks bern700

they write your name and stuff and also you get to wear a sticker.

upenn has parking garages. and you know you're about to leave the campus when you see vagrants walking around.

lol, are the parking garages available to students? are freshmen allowed to bring cars?

yes but you have to park in the permit lots and permits cost something exorbitant like 3000 a year

w..o..w...walking sounds fine lol, this is my first visit to any college so what do "the prefrosh walking around with their little infor bags" usually wear?

$20,000 suits...jk

normal clothes...although you'll probably encounter lots of preppy people wearing their popped collar polos, madras, and boat shoes.

Or you will encounter a kid on crutches, like I was Friday, lol.

I'm also a tour guide, and I get people in the full line up of clothing. Wear what you're comfortable in... you don't need to worry about making an impression, trust me, nobody is paying attention :)

i can't believe there's no student parking.....:( ...cuz it took us an hour to find a parking space today lol; i forgot to ask when i was there today if there are elevators in the Quad for move in and out days and whether the laundry facilities are free or not? there's this small university by my hometown that has free washers/dryers in the dorms so i was j/w

1) Why can't you believe it? Who the hell has a car in a city if they don't NEED it?

2) Uh... yesish... there are like 1 per building for handicapped regulations, but seriously don't count on using it.

3) washers & driers are about $1 or $.75 I forget.
