I got put in a townhouse and didn't want to be in one. anyone have experiences in what they are like? do people generally like them or not because they are so far from the rest of campus and a little isolated?

what are the pros of a townhouse? also, it says they have a kitchen, living room etc. is this one in each townhouse, or one in each unit? thanks!

The upstairs is 2 double BR and a baths shared by the 4 residents. Downstairs is a kitchen, a dining area, and a living room. So the four of you are living large – like an apartment, only it’s actually college dorm. There are maybe 6 townhouse units per building. IIRC there’s laundry facilities within the complex and a townhouse central rec building.

My son lived there freshman year – it’s not like traditional dormitory living at all. Hope this helps.

thanks! are the six or so townhouse units connected by a hall or a room? or do you enter directly from the outside? is it easy to socialize with people in other units or does it feel isolated?

Each individual townhouse opens to the outside. There’s a exterior door and a screen/storm door. There is a covered entrance. Outside the door are sidewalks and an open quad sort of lawn.

Outside my son’s townhouse was a volleyball court – in the quad. I am sure you can be as social as you like –

townhouses are really fun… it is a little farther away, but you are close to RPCC. The kids in townhouses realize they need to work a little harder to meet everyone, so everyone walks around and introduces themselves.

enjoy the first few months of school, literally you can walk up to anyone and say hello to spark a conversation, by second semester people close off a bit more.

the townhouses are physically connected but you have to go outside to the front door to get into each one. It is really nice to have a living room and kitchen, you can get a tv and cable if you want and live like an apartment.

A lot of athletes are in the townhouses, and there is a good mix of pretty social people.
