Towson or University of Baltimore or Capitol College

Hi all again.

I keep changing my mind on what kind of program I want to do at the community college I will be going to (Prince George's Community College), but I think I have finally made my decision. I will pursue an Information Security degree.

The thing is, is that its an Associates of Applied Science. I know these don't usually transfer, but I do want to transfer. But before I transfer, I want to be able to find a job first and then have pay for a 4 year degree.

The Information Security A.A.S. degree has articulation agreements with CyberWatch partners, which include Towson, University of Baltimore, Capitol College, and UMUC. I do not want to go to UMUC.

The IS associates goes to Towson as a Bachelors of Technical and Professional Studies in Information Technology. It goes to UBalt as a Bachelors of Science in Applied Information Technology. I am still awaiting from Capitol College to see what it will go into, but I am assuming it will transfer to the Bachelors of Science in Information Assurance.

Out of the 3, which would be the best? Anyone have experience with these schools? Which would employers be more impressed with? Also, which school has the most connections with internships, job experience, etc.

bump bump bump

Your are mistaken not to attend UMUC because it can open doors. Towson would not be my first pick for your degree. I would never go to Capitol College for any degree. I would suggest going to UMBC for your degree.

What doors can UMUC open? Why am I mistaken?

I wasn’t taking about UMBC though. I was talking about UBalt. University of Baltimore.

What is wrong with Towson?

Nothing at all wrong with Towson. Since you are concerned with job placement, contact the departments and ask where their graduates end up. How soon are you finishing at PGCC? You may have lots of time for investigation.

Did you look up your courses in ARTSYS to see how well they will transfer? You can set it to find the transfer equivalence (or non-equivalence) for each class at PGCC for each place on your list.
