I am a sophomore at a big state university looking to transfer to my home state university. The school asked for a mid term grades report and I got all my teachers to sign it and i sent it in. The credentials for this were due on October 15th and my teachers did not have my grades for me so under current grade they put n/a. The school that I was applying to said that they did not receive my grades because they were n/a so I called them and told them that the teachers did not have grades yet because it was so early. The admissions lady told me to resubmit the sheet again with my current grades. My current grades are low because their are quizes and tests that will be dropped at the end of the semseter. Is it possible for me to just forge these signatures and put why my grade should be in even though I dont want to do that. Or should I talk to my teachers and ask them to change the grade for the report? I dont want my future school to see a D for my class when I dont actually have a D. I also already sent them my transcript so I dont know if they will see my final grades.

ask the instructors to estimate where you stood in the class on October 15th. Then be sure to send them your final course grades as soon as they become available in December (presumably).

Do not forge anything. It’s a really bad idea.

Yeah i know but what are the risks of forging? Not saying I will do it but is there a way for the University to find out? just out of curiosity

I hear the nuns responding to this question with, “but even if no one found out, you would know, jimmy.” There’s that, and then there’s the risk of criminal prosecution (unlikely), expulsion and refusal of admission (very likely), refusal ever to issue your transcript without a letter explaining your actions (possibly). Your decision depends on what you’re made of.

I understand. Do you know how the process works? do these schools contact the teachers after they receive it?
