I was thinking it might be a good motivator if we posted how we all train for basic. Like how far we run, how many push-ups, and so on to keep each other motivated. Also, I realize it could be expensive if you dont already have an ipod nano, but the nikeplus thing that just came out is really cool and allows you to challenge other people to see who can run the most. It would be fun to start a challenge of people entering the AF academy on that website. What do you think?

Its definatly creative, lol. I Like it. But what do you mean by the Nikeplus thing? Is that just a MP3 player? Anyways sounds like a possibility.

Its basically a pedometer that plugs into an ipod nano, not expensive in itself, but the ipod is. But the cool part is that you can upload your runs online and challenge people to stuff like who can run the most miles between now and June 28, and other stuff to get you motivated

lol, I would strap it to a dog and let her go. Beat you all. ;)

i'll stop by and feed the dog plenty of sausage links. that dog ain't going nowhere.

lol, thats pretty funny. The Nike thing sounds sweet. Hornetguy for orientation do we stay overnight with you guys? Hows that go down?

You come up on Monday and sleep for about 6 hours of briefings. Then around 4 ish you go to the field house and the cadets will come down and pick people up. Then you just follow us around for the rest of the day and sleep in our dorms. Then, you go to class Tuesday with us till 4 or so that day (earlier if necessary for flights).

I definitely reccomend going, too. If anyone knows they're coming up and wants to stay with me or anyone on the forum who is willing, you can send us a message and I think there's a way for us to make sure we get you. I'll have to find out about that, though.

ditto...(stupid 10 character limit)

During cross country I did about 6 miles a day and a speed workout once or twice a week with breaks on sunday. Now that's it's winter I mainly use my bike trainer (and with school and everything I don't have time to really go for a run so I go to the track during lunch sometimes).

Pushups and situps i don't keep count i do them randomly throughout the day. I use a Gold's Gym to lift weights in my basement it's ok.

There ya have it :)

PS i'm happy i get a letter that i got into the national honor society w00t - most of you have probably been in for a while now but i'm happy :)

I wouldn't mind meeting one of you at orientation, do you goto all the sessions or just one?

Appointees only attend one of the 3 sessions if that's your question.

I think he meant do you(cadets) go to all the orientations? And I also think it'd be cool to room with one of you guys, or at least meet you.

Cadets volunteer to take appointees around, so I guess if they really wanted to they could for all 3....

I am willing to host anyone during any session, even if its all three. Keep in mind, we only have you guys for about 24 hours, so its not like its really a hassle for us. ;)

I'm interested. I just dont know which session I will be. Probably the first or second one.
